It has been an exciting start to the year with planning is well underway for the Montreal Youth forum on March9-11, with exciting guest speakers, worship, fellowship & fun. Please start spreading the news – Friday March 9 @ 7pm to Sunday March 11 10AM at Westmount United Church.
Il a été un début passionnant pour l'année et la planification est en bonne voie pour le forum de la jeunesse de Montréal le 9-11 mars, avec des conférenciers invités passionnants, adoration, la communion et d'amusement. S'il vous plaît commencer à répandre les nouvelles - Vendredi 9 @ 19:00 mars au dimanche 11 mars 10 heures à Westmount United Church.
Worshiplude next weekend in Ottawa will gather youth from all across Quebec & Ontario. From this network, an exciting delegation of youth & leaders from Camino, St Jean, Mount Royal, Beaconsfield, SouthWest & Ste Genny’s will be travelling & staying together at Riverside United. Please pray for an awesome weekend of faith & fun.

Friday-Sunday February 10-12 –Worshiplude & The Point. Come join us in Ottawa for a weekend of winter fu n & worhip. Skating on the Rideau Canal, visit the museum of civilization, watch fireworks. Ride ice slides, see international ice sculptures all as part of Winterlude in Ottawa. Saturday night we will gather together for THE POINT youth worship gathering. See attached poster, guidelines & registration information.Worshilude & The Point. Venez nous rejoindre à Ottawa pour un week-end de l'hiver fun & worship. Friday to Sunday March 9-11th – Montreal Youth Forum. A Weekend of faith, fellowship & exploration. Friday 7pm to Sunday noon @ Westmount Park United Church. Rethinking Youth Ministry: From the Solo Leader to the Whole Community of Faith (Neos)
Many youth feel that they are not a part of the life of a congregation and many congregations feel that once they have hired a youth leader the faith development of youth is ‘looked after’. Dr. Roland Martinson, author of Effective Youth Ministry: A Congregational Approach, suggests that “it is the spirit and culture of the entire congregation that fosters the faith of youth” and that the faith of the parents/family remains the strongest influence on the faith of teenagers.
Over the course of this Neos weekend Amy Crawford and Jackie Harper will explore what it looks like to take a congregational approach to youth ministry. Brett Ullman will address the involvement of parents in the faith development of their children. We will discuss the whys and hows of increasing youth participation in your church and share theories, strategies, and practical tips and tools for integrating youth ministry into in all aspects of church life.
Anyone involved in a congregation would benefit from this program to enrich the ministry of their community of faith. Church School Teachers, Parents, Board members, Christian Education Committee, even members of the UCW will find this program helpful. Please see attached flyer & let me know if you will be participating as it would be great to have a delegation from our Presbytery & Conference participate. There is funding available for this course so please let me know ASAP

Each participant is encouraged to use a copy of the Guide to prepare ahead for the workshop
We will engage in study,
prayer and discussion to:
· deepen
our understanding of the history & present context in Israel – Palestine
· share
our questions, concerns and commitments
· develop
tools for action
· consolidate
our network and connect with other United Church regions and
ecumenical groups
· help
participants to share or organize study groups in their
own communities
· prepare
for discussion and debate for the upcoming General Council 41
