Hello and Bonjour!

I am just writing a quick message to tell everyone that things might be a little different coming from the virtual desk for the rest of the school year.

I have recently been hired full time teaching the second grade here in Sherbrooke. I did not expect this change but it has really overwhelmingly changed the amount of time I have to work on other projects. I am writing to assure you that I am completely by contract with the virtual desk and still acting as the coordinator of youth and young adult ministry, I will still be at worshiplude and I will still plan and promote the programming of the AGM, I would still love to visit your congregations and keep working in partnership with the wonderful volunteers and staff people across our conference. Unfortunately I cannot take on any new projects, and some of my ongoing projects might get a little neglected. I think there will have to me a monthly newsletter, as well as regular updates for upcoming events. I wont be on facebook as much, but I will always answer messages, and emails and be here if I am needed.

Des nouvelles! La semaine passé j'ai réussi a trouver une poste d'enseignement a temps pleine et c'est déjà entrain de changer ma vie, et le montant de temps que je peut travailler sur mes différents projets. Je veut t'assurer que je vais continuer a travailler pour le synode dans le capacité maximum qui est possible. Je vais peut être écrire moins de lettres de nouvelles, mais je vais êtres a worshiplude, et aussi a le AGA. Je veut t'assurer que je suis toujours ici pour donner de support, et aussi pour vous joindre au culte a vos églises.

I wanted to write to share the information regarding the program for Youth and Young adults happening this year again at the AGM from the 24th of May until the 27th of May. Attached are the fliers which you could share to all other YAYA networks. The registration is now open, and the sooner you register the better!

Dear Youth and Young Adult friends! This past weekend was Worshiplude in Montreal and it was awesome and inspiring as usual. I hope you all enjoyed going, I saw many of you there and was happy to continue to see the bonds we are forming across our vast conference. There are so many amazing things happening, as all I am going to do now is tell you about them in a massive list! Have a great week!

JUIN/JUNE

There is only one United Church Sleep-away camp left in Quebec and it is Quebec Sherbrooke Presbytery’s camp (our website is not impressive yet) for one week at Frontier Lodge – Dates this year are June 24^th – June 30^th. The camp is open to kids aged 7-17 and we hire counsellors aged 16 and up. This year we will have a new away team wilderness camp for teens ages 14-17 as well as our leadership training program. for more info: Shanna Bernier or Jamie Webber

SUMMER/ÉTÉ
Apply for the Go project! Happening in cities across Canada – A chance to work in mission and discover your faith.

Future Quest –Kingston - Saturday, August 4 to Saturday, August 18, 2012.

This experience is for youth aged 14-17 who want to explore community, theology, and leadership by challenging their body, mind and spirit. It is an ecumenical program open to participants from varieties of faith traditions, including those with no faith tradition. A maximum of 24 participants are admitted each year.

It is not too late to participate in General council – Consider putting you name forward to be a Young Adult commissioner for our conference, write to me if you want to go to Youth Forum at General Council and you are not sure what to do.
